SUMMARY:

Bloom Projects was engaged by SCCA to manage development of a new MRI facility on their campus to increase capacity for patients. This project was unique due to the building type being modular construction and the procurement of both the building and MRI under a single vendor. The project included jurisdictional entitlements, site work, all utilities, and foundation, and negotiation, procurement, and installation of the facility and equipment.

The modular building was constructed in Tennessee in four separate units, shipped to Seattle, craned and set on the foundation, and welded together. The MRI was delivered two weeks later and set into the facility through the roof.

The key challenge of the project was obtaining the complex jurisdictional approvals, and Bloom Projects successfully navigated these to permit issuance. The COVID-19 pandemic mid project created another obstacle that was strategically navigated and overcome to meet the project deadline.

The project was successfully completed on time and under budget.
